Education comes in Handy
My American Literature teacher said something inspiring in class today, that most poetry is done to express the feelings within the writer rather then to move others. I find this very true and not necessarily a bad thing because everyone goes through different things. If poetry gives you the relief of venting all your feelings into fragments of words then you shouldn't care what others think. If perhaps someone likes your writing you should be happy that it has indeed touched someones life. This American Literature has been a positive influence in my life though. We've been reading Essays from Emerson and even though it is extremely difficult for me to read, I like the key ideas he is trying to get across. For example he is a big believer that whatever you believe god is, then this god radiate through the Oversoul and the Oversoul radiates to two things, nature and human nature. One of his ideas is that many religions began to lose their faith by praying to statues and figures rather then praying for virtue. I may not be able to explain this to the best but I just know that it the main part of his texts make me want to find myself. Anyways, I have school in the morning. Gotta get some sleep, peace.
